Pet Portraits

Default portrait is a mixed media painting on 8" basswood round for $175.

Other available surfaces include special heavyweight paper, cedar slabs, and sea shells. Paintings are available in watercolour, acrylic paint, coloured pencil, pastel, and mixed media.

Pet Caricatures

Capture the comical side of your pet's personality! The frame is a seashell from the BC coast, hinged at the back and painted inside and out with shimmering gradients. The seashell averages 4" across. It can stand without any outer support and be opened and closed like a locket. The portrait can feature just one caricature ($125) or a pair ($185).

These shells also make beautiful cases for jewelry or other small keepsakes. A hinged and painted shell without portraiture can be made to order for $65 each.

Making an Order

Choose your Photo: Email me your favourite photos of your pet. Whatever details or expressions you want to have represented in a portrait must be clearly visible in at least one of the reference photos.

Make an Appointment

Once we have confirmed the reference photos, composition, and price, schedule an appointment at my studio to make a cash deposit of 50%.

Pick up your Portrait: From layout to final details, I can have a basic pet portrait completed in 3-5 days. If the portrait is more complicated and requires more time, I keep you posted on how the project is progressing. When it is finished, I will send you a photo of the finished painting, and we'll set up a time for you to complete the cash payment and pick up your pet portrait.
High-resolution digital scans of your pet portrait and print on demand options are also available upon request.
